Acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan has announced his intention to retire from filmmaking after completing three major projects: Haiwaan, Hera Pheri 3, and his 100th film starring Mohanlal. The 68-year-old director revealed that he's getting tired and hopes to wrap up his career with these notable films. Haiwaan, a remake of his 2016 movie Oppam, is currently in production, with several changes in dialogues and screenplay.

Priyadarshan's upcoming projects include Haiwaan, which features Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, along with Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in pivotal roles. Mohanlal, who starred in Oppam, will make a cameo appearance in the film. After Haiwaan, Priyadarshan plans to direct his 100th film with Mohanlal as the lead actor. The screenplay for the 100th film is yet to be finalized, but shooting is expected to begin next year.

Priyadarshan's collaboration with Akshay Kumar has been successful, and the director attributes it to comfort and familiarity. On sequels, he admitted that revisiting original films isn't his preferred style, but he will make Hera Pheri 3 due to producer requests. The film will likely be a crowd-pleaser, given the popularity of the original series.

The shoot for Haiwaan will continue in Kochi for a few more days before moving to Vagamon, Ooty, and Mumbai. Interestingly, a scene from Oppam was also filmed at the same location in Kochi nine years ago. With his retirement plans in place, Priyadarshan is focused on delivering quality films that will leave a lasting impact on his audience.
