Manchu Vishnu recently realised his dream of showing Lord Shiva's devotee Kannappa's story on the big screen in a grand and lavish manner. The film Kannappa directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh featured Akshay Kumar, Mohan Lal, Prabhas, Kajal in powerful cameos. Mohan Babu played a powerful role in the film.
Now, speaking to scribes, Manchu Vishnu revealed that he planned to come with a film on Ramayana longtime before Kannappa. He said in 2009, he planned a film on Ramayana which showed the entire story from Ravana's birth to death. He said he readied the entire story and planned to cast Suriya in the role of Lord Rama.
He said he even contacted Suriya in 2009 and planned to rope in Raghavendra Rao as the director. He said Raghavendra Rao asked him to do the role of Indrajith. He added his dad Mohan Babu was supposed to do Ravana role. The script and dialogues were completed but due to budget constraints it couldn't take off.
He said if he gets a chance,he will cast Suriya, Mohan Babu in the same roles and for the role of Sita,he will rope in Alia Bhatt and he will do Hanuman's role. He said he will cast Karthi as Indrajith, Kalyan Ram as Lakshmana,Satyaraj as Jatayu.
