Indian badminton power couple Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have announced their separation after nearly seven years of marriage. The news came as a surprise to many, given their prominent positions in the sports community. Saina Nehwal shared the news on Instagram, stating that they've decided to part ways, choosing peace, growth, and healing for themselves and each other.

Saina and Parupalli's relationship began on the badminton courts, where their shared passion for the sport blossomed into love. They trained together at the Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad and later got married in December 2018. Kashyap transitioned into coaching after retiring from competitive badminton and guided Saina during the later years of her career.

Saina's Olympic bronze medal and world No. 1 ranking, alongside Kashyap's Commonwealth Games gold and consistent performances, made them a formidable duo in Indian badminton. Despite their separation, they wish each other well, with Saina expressing gratitude for the memories they've shared.

The couple's decision to separate comes after a long and fulfilling partnership, both personally and professionally. While Parupalli Kashyap hasn't publicly commented on the separation, his Instagram story from the Netherlands, where he was attending the Awakenings Festival, suggests he's in a positive space. Saina last played on the professional circuit in June 2023 and hasn't announced her retirement yet.
