A boat accident occurred during the shooting of Kantara: Chapter 1 in Karnataka's Mani reservoir, where actor-director Rishab Shetty and 30 crew members were traveling together. Fortunately, all onboard escaped unhurt due to the shallow waters, but filming equipment and cameras were lost. The incident is being investigated by the Thirthahalli police.

The accident adds to the series of setbacks faced by the production, which has already seen three artists associated with the film pass away in separate incidents. Despite these challenges, the film's crew is determined to move forward. Rishab Shetty had performed proper rituals and received blessings before starting the film, which may have contributed to the safe escape of all onboard.

The film's production has been plagued by a series of accidents and unfortunate incidents. Last year, an accident occurred in the van carrying junior artists, and a few days later, an actor named Kapil was swept away in a river and died. Another actor, Rakesh Pujari, died of a heart attack. Recently, mimicry artist Kalabhavan Niju died of a heart attack during the shooting.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety measures on the film's sets. However, the crew believes that the spirits of the land may have blessed them, allowing everyone to escape unhurt. The film's director, Rishab Shetty, is known for his meticulous approach to storytelling and his respect for the local culture and traditions. Despite the setbacks, the team is determined to bring this ambitious project to life.
