On Public Demand The Delhi Files Is Rechristened As The Bengal Files

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's upcoming film, The Bengal Files: Right to Life, is set to release on September 5, 2025. Originally titled The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter, the movie has been renamed in response to public demand. The film is the third and final installment of Agnihotri's acclaimed "Files" trilogy, following The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files (2022).

The Bengal Files: Right to Life examines the horrific communal violence that broke out in undivided Bengal in the 1940s, shedding light on important historical events like Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots. Agnihotri describes these events as a "Hindu genocide," aiming to raise awareness about this crucial period in Indian history.

The film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi. A teaser for the film was released earlier, offering a glimpse into its tone and direction, featuring Mithun Chakraborty in a striking look. The film's production faced challenges, including security concerns that forced the team to relocate filming from Kolkata to Mumbai.

With its release date approaching, audience are eagerly awaiting the film's premiere on September 5. The Bengal Files: Right to Life is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi, and presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha Productions.
