Kuberaa Recovers 40% Budget With OTT Streaming Rights

Sekhar Kammula's highly anticipated film Kuberaa, starring Dhanush and Akkineni Nagarjuna, is set to hit theatres in two weeks. The film's producer, Asian Suniel, has revealed that the OTT streaming rights have been sold to Prime Video for an impressive 47 Cr. This deal is a significant milestone for the producers, as it helps them recover a substantial portion of the film's budget, which stands at 120 Cr.

The producers have managed to recover around 40% of the budget from the digital business, making the OTT deal a jackpot for them. Kuberaa is expected to have a 28-day theatrical window, after which it will be available on Prime Video. However, the producer has expressed that the OTT platform's commitment has dictated the film's release date.

Asian Suniel had initially planned to release Kuberaa in July, allowing more time for post-production work. However, due to the OTT commitment, the film's release date has been moved forward to June 20th. This highlights the growing influence of OTT platforms in determining theatrical release dates.
