The latest installment of the Final Destination franchise, Final Destination: Bloodlines, has made a significant impact at the Indian box office on its opening day. The film grossed ₹5.25 crore on Thursday, including ₹30 lakh from midnight previews, becoming the biggest opener in the franchise's history. Moreover, it stands as the fourth-highest opening day for a Hollywood horror film in India, showcasing its popularity among horror fans.

The film's success can be measured by its position among the top Hollywood horror film openers in India. The Nun (2018) tops the list with ₹10.8 crore on Day 1, followed by The Conjuring 2 (2016) with ₹7 crore, and Annabelle: Creation (2017) with ₹6 crore. Bloodlines' impressive opening has placed it fourth, ahead of Annabelle: Comes Home (2019) with ₹3.75 crore. Notably, Bloodlines is the sole non-Conjuring Universe film in the top 5.

Bloodlines is already on track to break franchise records in India. After just two days of release, it has collected ₹6.28 crore, and its trajectory suggests it could become the highest-grossing film in the franchise. The previous instalment, released in 2011, only grossed ₹7.65 crore in India. However, the film faces tough competition from Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, releasing on Saturday, which might impact its overall performance.

Despite the competition, Bloodlines' strong opening and good word of mouth could still lead to a significant lifetime gross. Typically, a ₹5 crore opening day on a Thursday would set the movie up for a lifetime gross of over ₹50 crore. However, the outcome remains to be seen, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how Bloodlines performs at the Indian box office.
