Saif Ali Khan gearing for Oppam remake. Saif Ali Khan who recently showed his acting prowess in NTR's Devara Part 1, is now entertaining all with the film Jewel Thief which is streaming on Netflix.
Now all eyes are on his upcoming project. For long rumours spread that Saif will be starring in the remake of Malayalam hit Oppam. Now the project is confirmed and Saif Ali Khan will undergo training for his role in the film.
He will be undergoing Kalaripayattu, ancient Indian martial art from Kerala, considered one of the oldest martial arts in the world. It's known as "the mother of all martial arts" and involves a blend of combat techniques, yoga, and healing practices. The term "Kalaripayattu" translates to "practice in the arts of the battlefield"
The project will take off from December and it will be helmed by Priyadarshan. A source shares “Saif will take a two-month break after finishing Rahul Dholakia’s movie. During this time, he’ll undergo workshops to prepare for playing a blind character. After that, he’ll head to Kerala to train in Kalaripayattu, as his character is a skilled martial artist."
The source adds “In the months that followed, Saif focused on Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, while Priyadarshan got busy with his projects. Now, Saif has secured the rights for the remake and set the shoot dates. Priyadarshan is already working on the script, and filming is expected to begin by the end of 2025 after Saif completes Rahul Dholakia’s film and Priyadarshan wraps up Bhooth Bangla with Akshay Kumar and Tabu."
