Prathap Ravi in Paritala Ravi village

Actor Vivek Oberoi, who enacted former legislator Paritala Ravi character in the Ram Gopal Varma's controversial film `Rakta Charitra-I’, on Monday visited Anantapur district to pay homage to departed leader.

Vivek Oberoi visited Paritala Ghat in the district and offered floral tributes to the Telugu Desam Party MLA, who was gunned down by his rivals in Anantapur district in 2005.

Supporters of Paritala Ravi family and fans greeted Vivek. The family members gave a red-carpet welcome to the leader.

Greeting people in Telugu, the actor said he was satisfied by playing the character of former MLA. Vivek said he got a good response from the fans over the movie.

The film directed by Ram Gopal Varma created controversy for projecting TDP founder NTR in poor manner.

Even locals also raised objection for targeting Anantapur Reddy community in Rayalaseema factions.

Following the protest by TDP activists, Varma was forced to delete objectionable scenes in the movie.
