Karthi As Cop In The First Look Of Karthik 26

Karthi has joined hands with director Nalan Kumarasamy for his 26th film. The film has now been titled Vaa Vaathiyaar and a first look poster has been released by the makers on the occasion of his birthday. Earlier tentatively referred to as Karthi 26, the film stars Krithi Shetty as the female lead and has Sathyaraj and Rajkiran in important roles.

The first look poster has Karthi donning the role of a cop. In the backdrop we can see several people wearing the attire of yesteryear actor-politician MG Ramachandran. Karthi has previously played cop roles in Siruthai, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Sardar.

Vaa Vaathiyaar has music by Santhosh Narayanan in his third collaboration with Kumarasamy after Soodhu Kavvum (2013) and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum (2016); third with Karthi after Madras (2014) and Kaashmora (2016). The rest of the technical team includes cinematography by George C Williams. The film is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja under his Studio Green productions.

Karthi was last seen in Raju Murugan's Japan. The actor's 27th film's title was announced as Meiyazhagan by Suriya and Jyotika's 2D Productions. Directed by C Prem Kumar of 96 fame, the film stars Sri Divya as the female lead, as well as Saran Shakthi and Rajkiran in prominent roles.
