Famous Bollywood Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is now trying his hand at doing something that his mentor Ramgopal Varma excels in gangster thrillers. Anurag is ready to dissect the reason behind the rise of mafia in Bihar and decode how people have been putting up with six decades of the throbbing underbelly. From kidnapping to organised crime to the nexus of the mafia with bureaucracy everything will be explored by the maverick director.

What’s most interesting about this development is that Anurag has shown the script to Ramu and even taken his advice on the same. I have discussed the project with him but we do have completely different sensibilities when it comes to making a film and so there will be no shadow of Ramu in my film even though I consider him to be my mentor, he says. Talking about the project, Anurag tells that, I will only show the reality and even explore how the chief minister of the state Nitish Kumar has been able to combat the mafia at least in the urban cities. Anurag will, however camouflage reality by not pointing fingers at anyone. I don’t want unnecessary controversy surrounding my film, he says.

So, Anurag seems to be traveling in foot steps of his mentor.
