Behind the Movie CNK: Romantic hero Nithin swinging on seam with good hits has teamed with love stories specialist Karunakaran while Mishti is heroine and Anup Rubens scored the music. Let us see how far Nithin is showing the same command on BO?

In the Movie CNK: Story begins with a fight and song format of introducing hero Nithin (Nithin) who is admired by old man Reddy (Naazar). Meanwhile, Nandini (Mishti) falls in eyes of Nithin and it’s the same love at first sight. Nithin continues to chase Nandini and Reddy also has a dramatic flashback on how his daughter (Rohini) is separated from family. Twist in the tale comes when Nandini forcibly makes Reddy fly to Europe leaving Nithin alone in India. What is the ultimate motive of Nandini in taking Reddy to Europe? How are these two connected? Why did Nithin follow them to Europe and tease Nandini there? When did an already engaged Nandini realize the real love for Nithin?

Values of the Movie CNK: Like any film of Karunakaran, this one is also of same old touch with family drama and romance mixed together. Difference is Karunakaran looked imperfect and not in touch. The typical magic in looping an internal chemistry between lead pair as a part of running the love story completely went missing here. During the narration of family emotions too, he failed to drive on. Altogether Karunakaran was far away from his own set standards. His familiar direction skills shown in an entertaining first half sunk subjacent with a feeble second half. Here and there, the montages used in songs were appreciative. I Andrew cinematography brightened the visuals on screen. In contrast, editing by Praveen Pudi was dull and obtuse. Anup Rubens repeated the same tunes and BGM which is making him monotonous. Lastly, production values of Sresht Movies and Nikitha Reddy are above average.

Performance wise, Nithin reached a matured stage where in he can handle the burden alone by putting a one man show. He was handsome in pretty cool costumes with regular diction in dialogues maintained. Especially, timing of comedy and bending the body for atypical dance moves has been his forte which is re-approved here. Nithin’s fondness for Pawan Kalyan is also showcased in couple of scenes. Heroine Mishti is an uncommunicative artist and a misfit besides Nithin. Looks wise, she was also seemingly older. Naazar’s over reactivity was distressing. Sitara, Naresh, Rohini struck to their brief roles. Ali’s comedy as Rahul failed to tickle the funny bone. Same is the case with gay comedy of Raghu Nandan and his partner in second half.

Out of the Movie CNK: Keeping it straight on nose, Nithin had a wrong pick this time. He depended and relied on Karunakaran for a best film something like ‘Tholi Prema’ to happen. However, there were very limited episodes where trademark of Karunakaran was sensed. He had an age old fossil of love and drama on hand. Movie takes off on a sloppy note only to fall in place before pre-interval block. There was an average dose of fun added while a thrill filled interval event closes the business in first half on a half-satisfactory representation. When much more is expected in second half, Karunakaran kept the narration flat and irksome with tedious, ugly and boring time passing sub threads. Only in climax, he was collecting the rags to stiffen the sequences. Sadly, it was too late by then. Comprehensively, CNK is not characteristic product identical to the quality attributes of neither Karunakaran nor Nithin.

Commercially, CNK might have some good time just because of big vacuum at BO till the arrival of biggies ‘Gopala Gopala’ and ‘Temper.’ A long range like ‘Ishq’ or ‘GJG’ cannot be expected. If this same film was released amidst competition, there would have been no trace.

Cinejosh Verdict of CNK: Except Nithin, There is Nothing for You.
