The Aarogyasree scheme and 108 Services would continue as usual and there is no move to wind up the scheme or reduce the services, assured Chief  Minister  K Rosaiah on Thursday.

Reviewing the services of Aarogyasree and 108 services with the officials concerned at the Secretariat, the CM said the scheme  was adopted by  late Dr  Y S Rjasekhar Reddy and hence there was no plan to shelve such popular schemes.

''In fact, we are planning to increase the share of the Government-run hospitals up to 30 per cent in Rajiv Aarogyasree Scheme, the CM added.

``To this effect, the State Government has decided to develop infrastructure in the empanelled government hospitals with an assistance of Rs 65 crore,’’ the CM noted.

After the meeting, Minister for Aarogyasree and 108 Services,  Pitani Satyanarayana,  briefing the press said, ``340 empanelled hospitals were extending health care services to the poor under the Rajiv Aasrogyasree Scheme in the State. 

Referring to the expenditure incurred so far,  the Minister observed that Rs 1,746 crore has been spent so far and 5,91,345 operations of various type have been performed for the needy.
