IIT's Won't Offer B Tech

Until now it has been a dream for every student of Science to be graduated at Indian Institute of Technologies (Iits). ITTs, indeed, the best institutes in India which offer B Tech and M Tech course.

The Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry, however, is learnt to have been contemplating to scrap B Tech education in Iits in an attempt to revamp IIT education aiming at bringing childhood back to students.

According to the reports, IIT Council, comprising eminent faculty from old Iits, will convene a crucial meeting on 21st of August to discuss the possibility of scrapping B Tech in Iits and to make necessary amendments. Reportedly, JEE Advanced examination systems will be wiped out while JEE Mains examination system will remain to be existed. The toppers of JEE mains, who secure seats in top institutions, will be offered a semester of IIT teaching during 3rd and 4th year of B Tech course. Furthermore, the institutes, which offer B Tech course, will mention the students who acquire one semester experience at Iits as 'IIT Experience' in their degree certificates. And these students will be given top priority in Iits to do their master's degree.

As of now, 11000 students are doing B Tech courses every year. The new system may provide the single semester IIT experience to around 80000 students.

Sadly, the HRD ministry conveniently ignored the fact that the Iits were established to train merit students for making them well use of developing the nation. Since the HRD ministry is mulling over abolishing B Tech education, they, themselves, tomahawked the prime objective of Iits

Well, it remains to be seen if the HRD ministry's radical new idea will go fruitful or would it become a futile attempt from them.
