Bjp floor leader Dr. K. Lakshman has advised the Telangana Government to ensure full spending of allocated budget.

Participating in the debate on State Budget for the financial year 2016-17 in State Legislative Assembly on Friday, Lakshman alleged that the TRS Government did not concentrate on spending entire budget during the last two years by mobilising and strengthening all resources. Instead, the ruling party was focused on encouraging defections in opposition parties.

Lakshman said of Rs. 1 lakh crore budget for 10 months during 2014-15, only Rs. 62,306 crore were spent. Similarly, of Rs. 1.15 lakh crore in 2015-16, only Rs. 85,000 crore were spent. He feared that the budget of Rs. 1.30 lakh crore for 2016-17 would meet the same fate and the government would not be able to spend more than Rs. 85,000 Cr to Rs. 90,000 Cr. He said a huge budget ws presented without considering the failures in implementing the previous two budgets. He said that the budget was too imaginary.

The Bjp leader accused the State Government of pushing the Telangana State into a debt trap. He said the new State of Telangana inherited debts of Rs. 83,000 crore from united Andhra Pradesh. However, in less than two years, the TRS Government escalated it to Rs. 1.23 Crore. He strongly condemned the remarks made by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao wherein he defended taking loans and even claimed that United States of America was in debts of nearly $ 19.3 lakh. He said that growth of USA was much higher than Telangana and both could not be compared.
