Jagan has launched the indefinite fast at Nallapadu village in Guntur district on October 7 demanding Special Status for Andhra Pradesh. However, the police forcibly shifted him to a hospital in the early hours of Tuesday when his health deteriorated. Amid chaos and strong resistance by YSRCP activists, Jagan was shifted to Guntur Government Hospital where he has been kept under observation for 24 hours. GGH superintendent Raja Naidu said that essential fluids were being given to Jagan.

Meanwhile, Jagan's mother Vijayamma, wife Bharati and sister Sharmila reached the hospital. However, they were prevented from entering the ICU.

Speaking to media persons at hospital, YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana said that the party would continue its agitation seeking Special Status for AP.
