TPCC Minority Department chairman Mohammed Sirajuddin and other leaders called on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Thursday and requested him to direct the Telangana Government to order a CBI probe into the Alair encounter.

Speaking to media persons later, Sirajuddin said five under trails, who were chained and handcuffed, were killed in an alleged encounter by the Telangana Police on April 7. He said that the minorities have lost trust over TRS Government after the incident of murder of an eight-year-old boy in Mehdipatnam on October 8, 2014, and the recent encounter wherein five Muslim under trials were shot dead in broad daylight. Describing the SIT probe, ordered by the State Government, as eyewash, he urged the government to intervene into the issue and order a CBI enquiry into the incident.

The Congress leaders also asked the Governor to intervene to ensure that TRS Government fulfills its promise of providing 12% reservation for Muslims in education and jobs. He also demand full fee reimbursement for professional courses for minority community students on par with SC and STs.
