Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has exhorted all public representatives, especially those belonging to his party Telangana Rashtra Samithi, to inculcate the habit of learning.

Addressing the inaugural session of three-day training camp of TRS leaders and workers at Vijay Vihar at Nagarjuna Sagar here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that the fast changing technologies have made it essential for everyone, especially the public representatives, to upgrade their knowledge. He said better administration could be ensured only through updated knowledge and correct information. For the same reason, the TRS has decided to hold training camp for its leaders, he said.

The Chief Minister alleged that the Telangana region was completely neglected in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh and it was due to the injustices that were rendered to people that the TRS was launched with the sole motive of achieving statehood for the region. After the realisation of dream of Telangana State, the TRS aspires to turn the State as the best in the country.

Kcr announced that from now on, the training programmes for the TRS leaders and workers would be held at least once in a month. He expressed confidence that the public representatives would gain a lot from such training sessions.

In his speech, former Chief Election Commissioner of India JM Lyngdoh stressed on the importance of good governance. He said no State or country could progress without ensuring good governance. He said electoral reforms like eradication of use of money power were one of the step to implement good governance. He advised the senior legislator and Parliamentarians to present themselves as role model for the first time MLAs/MPs.

Lyngdoh advised the legislators to follow the example of the United States of America where the elected representatives consult experts as and when required.

Noted economist Hanumantha Rao has praised the State Government's flagship programme 'Mission Kakatiya. He also urged the State Government to focus on eradication of illiteracy from the Telangana.

The training session was also addressed by ASCI Director General Ravikanth.

The TRS training programme will continue till May 4.
