Telangana Chief Minsiter and TRS President K Chandrashekar Rao exhorted the TRS cadre to strive hard to achieve party's new goal of turning the State into 'Bangaru Telangana'.

Addressing the party's first plenary session after formation of Telangana State and TRS coming to power in June last year, Chandrashekar Rao asked the workers and leader to re-dedicate themselves for the cause of 'Bangaru Telangana'. Stating that the State Government was moving in the right direction, he wanted the TRS to act as a catalyst and bridge between the people and government. He listed out all the achievements of TRS Government during the last 10 months.

Kcr recalled the role played by martyrs and TRS activists in achieving statehood for Telangana. He said that the TRS activists fought and won a tough battle on the streets of Hyderabad and also Delhi. He said that the TRS Government was taking care of welfare of all sections of the society. Besides increasing the pension amount, several new schemes were launched for various sections which remained ignored during the previous regimes of Congress and TDP. He said special focus has been laid on the welfare and growth of SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and other weaker sections of Telangana.

The Chief Minister reiterated that he won't seek votes if he fails to provide safe drinking water to all households before next elections. He said no other party in the country could make such a daring announcement. He also assured that promised 1 lakh jobs to the youth would be a reality soon. He also explained the status of schemes like Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya. He asked the party cadre to extend their cooperation in making Haritha Haram scheme a success to turn Telangana State into green zone by planting 120 crore saplings. He also expressed confidence that Telangana would be a power surplus State in the next three years.

Kcr assured to provide relief to the farmers who were hit by recent unseasonal rains. He said reports have been sought from all District Collectors and adequate compensation would be paid to all affected farmers. He claimed that the State Government has overcome the energy crisis and soon it would resolve the irrigation woes.

Earlier in the day, Kcr reached the LB Stadium after paying tributes to the martyrs of Telangana at Gun Park. He then hoisted the party flag. Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy then announced Kcr's re-election as the party's president for the eighth consecutive term.

Ministers, legislators and other senior leaders addressed the plenary session. As many as 12 different resolutions were also passed during the session which was attended by about 40,000 delegates from across the Telangana State.
