Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has reviewed the power situation with Principal Secretary  Energy Aravind Kumar and Telangana  GENCO Chairman D Prabhakar Rao at the Secretariat here on Thursday morning. 

The officers told the Chief Minister that they are buying 4 to 5 Million Units (MU) from power exchange daily to overcome the deficiency of about 800 MW.

The Chief Minister asked them to explore the possibilities of obtaining power from Eastern Power Grid from Kayamkulum in Kerala state. He said that whatever might be the rate, they should ensure that agriculture and industry is not affected in the state. 

Kcr also reviewed the progress of Damarcherla power plant.  The officers appraised the Chief Minister that with short term and long term plans they were able to improve the power situation and it is unlikely that situation would affect the agriculture and industry. 

The Chief Minister also told the officers to explore the possibilities of improving the situation through solar power.
