Dattatreyya remined that he personally met Chattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh beforehand on 2nd November, who happened to be his colleague in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government in the Centre.  "I have appraised him the plight of Telangana People in detail, that the agricultural crops are drying up, resulting in mass scale suicides of farmers, the depleting water levels at Srisailam resulting in disputes of power generation and the woes of general public for shortage of power," he said.

The Chattisgarh CM had a patient hearing of the grave situation of power scarcity in Telangana State and expressed his deep concern to resolve the crisis.  "He has also informed me that he has discussed with Union Power Minister Piyush Goel about the priority need of laying transmission line connecting Chattisgarh with Telangana State. He has assured that he would supply whatever possible quantity of power immediately by alternative sources of existing lines," he said.

He expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people of Telangana in general and on behalf of BJP of Telangana in particular for his positive attitude.  He said Raman Singh is also prepared to supply additional 1,000 MW of power in future. "It is highly commendable that the Chief Minister of Chattisgarh has come to the rescue of our state at the need of the hour and that both the state governments have signed agreement for supply of 1,000 M.W. of electricity," he said.
