Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao has blamed TPCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, CLP leaders K Jana Reddy and D Srinivas for the rising defections in the party.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Vhr said that all three leaders have collective failed to hold the legislators with the party. He said so far nine MLCs and four MLAs have switched over to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He said that the present leadership has failed to perform while the Congress High Command has remained silent on these developments. He said there was no coordination between the leaders and legislators.

Complaining that the senior leaders were being ignored by the present leadership, Vhr said that the MPs and ex-MPs have played a major role in the formation of Telangana. However, the Telangana Congress did not utilise their services in any activity.

Vhr informed that he had convened a meeting with the Congress MPs from the region to discuss preparation for next Parliament session beginning from November 24. He said he will coordinate with the former MPs and will also speak to the Congress High Command to strengthen the party in Telangana State.
