Telangana Govt will encourage private universities: KCR

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday announced that his government would promote more private universities in the new State of Telangana.

Speaking after inaugurating the SCHULICH School of Business, YORK University and GMR School of Business at Novotel in Shamsabad Airport here, the Chief Minister said that the government would encourage more and more number of universities to transform Hyderabad into a Knowledge Hub. Welcoming the establishment of business schools, he said that the management education would be really helpful to the students of Telangana, especially in view of expected growth in industrialisation of Telangana in the next few years. He reiterated that his government was coming up with a first-of-its-kind industrial policy in the country. He said hundreds of new industries and business established are likely to be established in Telangana as the government was prepared to allot nearly 5 lakh acres of land to the different industries.

Describing Hyderabad as the most preferred investment destination, the Chief Minister assured that the investors would find their interments safe in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana State.

Addressing the gathering, , Ratan Tata, the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, hoped that Telangana would achieve fast pace growth due to the enthusiasm being displayed by Kcr for the development of the State. He said that Indian entities are about to end the US domination in the field of business education and welcomed the establishment of new business schools. He said increase number of B-schools would lead to a competitive atmosphere within the country.

GMR Group Chairman G Mallikarjun Rao, Education Minister Jagadeshwar Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP K Keshava Rao, Chevella MP Visveshwar Reddy, Advisor to Government KV Ramana Chary and others were also present.
