Telangana Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy on Monday urged the State Government to take immediate steps to implement farm loan waiver promise to prevent suicide by farmers across Telangana.

Speaking to media persons here, Jana Reddy said that so far at least 80 farmers have committed suicide due to government's failure to honour its promise on loan waiver scheme. He said it was strange that the RBI was not willing to implement a policy decision taken by an elected government. He said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should given concrete assurance to farmers on waiving off their agricultural loans.

Jana Reddy said that the government should clarify its stand on the issue and explain the existing status to the people. Similarly, the government should hold discussions with the students and clarify their doubts over fee reimbursement issue. He said KCR should also look for alternatives if he was unable to implement some promises. He said if the constitution of Telangana Public Service Commissioner was getting delayed, then the government should fill the vacant posts through APPSC. He said that the Congress would launch a mass agitation if the government fails to implement its promises.
