Strongly condemning the undemocratic and barbaric acts of Tdp government which has been trying to usurp power in local bodies while ignoring larger issues that would benefit a multitude of people; YSR Congress has said the misplaced priorities would spell doom to the ruling party.

“At a time when the future of farmers, students, employees and all sections of people is in a quandary in the new State, Tdp is continuing to build a false hegemony in Nellore, Guntur and Prakasam, where it has no majority, by using raw force and barbaric methods to win numbers,” party senior leader Konatala Ramakrishna told reporters here on Monday.

The governance in the state has slipped from a frying pan into fire with Tdp proving that it is worse than the previous Congress government it had taken over from. While there was no governance in the Kiran Kumar Reddy term, there is lawlessness in abundance after Chandrababu Naidu has taken over.

The attack on the vehicle in which our Party MLA and spokesperson were travelling shows that Tdp leadership has scant respect for democratic institutions. Be it Nellore or Prakasam, while we have the numbers why is the Chandrababu Naidu government so keen to fight on the local turf while there are larger issues that have been knocking hard for an immediate attention, he said.

The incident taking place in the constituency represented by the State Assembly Speaker, who was unanimously elected by all parties, is a matter of concern and the impartial nature of the of the office he holds becomes questionable, he said.

Tdp was voted to power to tackle major questions like the capital, rebuilding the state and solve issues of such magnitude but Chandrababu Naidu has been engaged in trivial matters and has been more focused on localized subjects that hardly affect his governance.

The issue of farmers was pushed to back-burner and their future hangs in a balance as they are not sure of getting fresh loans and there is no way to clear old dues even as the monsoon has set in and it is time for kharif season, EAMCET counseling has been stopped and contract workers are losing jobs and there are problems galore everywhere.

But heavy concentration on ZPTC polls shows the dictatorial streak of the Tdp which cannot stand a strong opposition party, he said.

Even where YSRCP has a clear majority, Tdp has been trying to manipulate the numbers while State Election Commission, police and official machinery stand mute witness to the atrocities which mock the democratic institutions, he said.
