TRS senior leader T Harish Rao on Thursday accused TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu of cheating the people of Telangana by stating that he never opposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons here, Harish Rao ridiculed the claims of TDP chief that he never opposed the formation of Telangana State. He alleged that it was Naidu who created several obstacles in the formation of Telangana. Further, he alleged that Naidu also obstructed the development of Telangana both as the Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition. He asked Naidu to clarify as to why he did not reply to the 10 questions raised by the TRS on Telangana issue.

Harish Rao alleged that Naidu was now trying to use BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's image to cover up his anti-Telangana activities. Dismissing Naidu's allegation that TRS was weak in the region, he asked Naidu whether he would wind up TDP if TRS wins more seats in the ensuing elections.

Stating that the TRS would contest the forthcoming elections alone, Harish Rao expressed confidence that party would form the first government of Telangana by securing a comfortable majority.
