Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr N Raghuveera Reddy on Saturday expressed confidence that Seemandhra region would emerge as the industrial hub of the country in the next few years.
Addressing the meeting of office bears of PCC, District and City Congress Committees of residuary State of Andhra Pradesh at Indira Bhavan here, Raghuveera Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh would develop a better capital than Hyderabad. Stating that the bifurcation should be viewed as an opportunity to develop the region, he said that more than 100 multi-national companies have expressed desire to invest in Seemandhra region following the announcement of tax sops by the Centre. He said that massive investments would eradicate unemployment from the region and Andhra Pradesh would emerge as one of the most developed State in the country in the shortest period of time.
Raghuveera Reddy claimed that the bus yatra was a success and rejuvenated the cadre at all levels. He said that the people of Seemandhra region too have understood the compulsions that forced the Congress party to bifurcate the State. He expressed confidence that the Congress would come to power in the ensuing general elections.
Senior leaders including Union Minister K Chiranjeevi, former PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana, former minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramchandra Rao and others addressed the meeting.
