The East Godavari District authorities have denied permission for the proposed public meeting of former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Rajahmundry on March 12.

According to sources, East Godavari Collector Neetu Prasad has refused to permit the public meeting citing implementation of Model Code of Conduct as the reason. Kiran Kumar Reddy was scheduled to launch his new party on March 12 during the public meeting. Earlier, Kiran was also denied permission to conduct the meeting at Arts College Grounds. The venue was later shifted to a private place. However, the district authorities too denied the permission.

Meanwhile, sources say, that Kiran Kumar Reddy would announce the name of his new party on Monday evening itself.
