President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday gave nod to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill meant for State's bifurcation to carve out Telangana. He also signed the proclamation to impose President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh.

The President's assent to the Bill, which was passed by the Parliament on February 20, paved the way for the formation of Telangana, the 29th State in the country. While Telangana will have 10 districts, the residual State of Andhra Pradesh will retain 13 districts although both the States will share Hyderabad as a common capital.
