Former minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy on Friday welcomed the decision of Union Cabinet to recommend President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Anam said that there was no logic in forming a new government for tenure of less than three months. He said that such a government would have face severe allegations of corruption by the opposition parties. Therefore, he said that the Congress party took the right decision of imposing President's Rule.

Anam also condemned the leaders who are shifting loyalties to other parties from Congress. He said that the leaders reaped the benefits of power for the last 10 years and by sensing that the Congress might face problem in Seemandhra region, they jumped to other parties. He described them as opportunists and said people would never forgive such leaders.

He also claimed that the State's bifurcation would have no impact on next elections and expressed confidence that Congress would form government in both the States. When asked about former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's proposed party, he said he would react on it only after its launch.

Earlier, Anam along with former minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP MA Khan and Govt Whip in Legislative Council Rudraraju Padmaraju colleted the certificate of election of KVP Ramchandra Rao as Rajya Sabha member from Assembly Secretary S Raja Sadaram.
