In a shocking incident, the MLAs belonging to Congress and Trs almost came to blows during the debate on Telangana Bill in the State Legislative Assembly on Friday.

Following some alleged provocative remark, Trs MLA K Vidyasagar charged towards Government Whip Dronamraju Srinivas. Other Trs MLAs including Jupally Krishna Rao and K Tarakarama Rao, followed him. In a bid to protect Srinivas, senior MLA Gade Venkat Reddy intervened and stopped Vidyasagar. However, the Trs MLAs pushed him aside. Meanwhile, other Congress MLAs from the Seemandhra region went to the rescue of Srinivas. The situation remained tense for about 10 minutes with MLAs from both the regions pushing each other while hurling allegations. The agitated MLAs did not respond to the requests made by Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who was on the Chair, for restoration of order in the House.

Meanwhile, Trs deputy floor leader T Harish Rao intervened and took back his party MLAs to their seats.

Speaking about the incident later, Legislative Affairs Minister S Sailajanath condemned the behaviour of Trs MLAs and asked them to tender an unconditional apology. Gade Venkat Reddy alleged that he was held by collar by the Trs MLAs. TDP's Gopala Krishna Reddy also condemned the incident and said that the MLAs should participate in serious discussions and not indulge in physical fights.

TDP MLA D Narendra said that the incident has hurt the sanctity of the House.
