Samaikhya Andhra activists intensifies protests

The Samaikhyandhra activists on Monday launched massive agitation in both Rayalaseema and Andhra regions by holding protest before the residences of Lok Sabha MPs demanding that the Centre keep Andhra Pradesh united.

The Samaikyandhra JAC activists tried to attack the residence of Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal. The raised slogans in favour of united AP and warned the Centre of dire consequences if it divides the State. They activists also demanded that Lagadapati resign from his post immediately.

Similar rallies and protests were also oranised across several towns in the Seemandhra region on Monday. The activists burnt the effigies of the Centre and Congress MPs at several places. The activists also staged protest before the residences of Union ministers Kotla Jayasurya Prakash Reddy, Daggubati Purandeswari and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. However, police took all the activists into custody and foiled their attempts to attack the MPs' residences.
