The Centre's decision to conduct an all-party meeting over the Telangana Issue after the on-going session of Parliament has given a big relief to the Telugu Desam Party leaders in the region.

"TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was the first person who demanded all-party meeting on the Telangana. He also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for the same," claimed party's deputy floor leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu while talking to media persons here. He said although the Centre has promised to convene all-party meeting only to lure Telangana Congress MPs to vote in favour of FDI in retail sector, he said it was done following pressure from the TDP.

Muddukrishnamma Naidu said that the TDP MPs have already announced that they would vote in favour of Telangana Bill, whenever it is introduced in the Parliament.

Meanwhile, the TDP President intensified his attack on the Congress party over the Telangana Issue. Addressing a meeting in Nizamabad district during his "Vastunna Mee Kosam" padayatra, Naidu reiterated that the TDP was not against the formation of Telangana State. However, he said that the decision on the issue has been pending due to the Congress party.

Demanding that the Congress party clarify its stand on the statehood issue, he said that lack of consensus within the Congress party was obstructing the decision of Telangana.
