A day after claiming that the SC, ST Sub-Plan Bill was the results of his efforts, Union Minister of State for Tourism K Chiranjeevi took a U-turn giving entire credit to the Congress party.

Apparently after realising that there were many contenders including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take the credit for the sub-plan, Chiranjeevi took a safe exit from a possible controversy. Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that it was the Congress party that made the SCs and STs champion by introducing the sub-plan. He also clarified that the Congress leaders were not vying with each other to take the credit for this achievement.

Chiranjeevi also owned the responsibility of addressing the press conference at Congress Legislature Party on Saturday when the session was on. However, he said it was not a planned press conference and he only responded when media asked him questions.

Earlier, Chiranjeevi also paid rich tributes to former Chief Minister Dr Marri Chenna Reddy on his death anniversary.
