Reiterating that dalits and tribals benefited most during YSR term, YSR Congress has urged the government to circulate the recommendations made to the Cabinet subcommittee on the SC, ST sub-plan.

Party Honorary President, Ys Vijayamma, who attended the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, has asked for extending the special assembly session by two more days but it was decided to have a three-day session, Deputy floor leader Sobha Nagi Reddy told reporters here on Thursday.

We have also asked the government to circulate the draft bill and also the recommendations the Cabinet Sub-committee has received from various organisations so that there could be a meaningful debate. The government has agreed to circulate the draft bill after it is tabled in the house, she said.

Earlier, the YRS Congress Legislature Party had met under the leadership of Ys Vijayamma on the eve of the assembly session. The services of YSR to the marginalised sections of the society were lauded by the members. SCs and STs were the major beneficiaries during YSR term and the welfare schemes he has implemented, members have said.

We will take up the issue with all earnestness in the session, Sobha Nagi Reddy said.

In a separate press conference, the Party SC Cell Convenor Surya Prakash came down heavily on TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao for his remarks on YSR family members. “KCR has been trading Telangana sentiment for his personal gains and has been promoting his family members instead of the people of the region,” he said.
