Congress MLC and senior leader KR Amos on Wednesday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy convene a meeting to discuss the progress of irrigation projects in Telangana region.

Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Amos said that the Chief Minister should hold a meeting by inviting all MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Telangana region to review the status and progress of irrigation projects in the region. Referring to the review meeting held on Rayalaseema's irrigation projects, he said that as the Chief Minister, Kiran Kumar Reddy could not confine himself to the well-being of Rayalaseema region.

Amos also demanded that the Chief Minister disclose details of funds sanctioned by Kiran Kumar Reddy for different projects in Seemandhra and Telangana regions. Complaining of injustice, he said although the people of Telangana have rights over Krishna waters, they were not getting their due share. He said that the people of the region would not tolerate any injustice and would raise their voice against them.

Regarding the reported letter of former minister Gade Venkat Reddy to Congress president Sonia Gandhi seeking economic package for Telangana region and constitution of second States' Reorganisation Commission, Amos said that those demands could be Gade's personal views. However, he said that people of the region would accept nothing less than Telangana State.
