Telugu Desam Party General Secretary and founder of the Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy on Saturday said that the people of  Rayalaseema were meted out with major injustice under the united Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to media persons while hoisting the flag of Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi at Somajiguda Press Club, Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy alleged that because of some selfish leaders, injustice was done to Rayalaseema region many times which include shifting of the state capital from Kurnool. Stating that the people of Rayalaseema were against the division of State, he, however, said that people want separate Rayalaseema State in the event of bifurcation of State.

"If the bifurcation of the State is imminent, the Centre should form three separate states - Coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana," he said. “People will not keep quite if any part of Rayalaseema is merged with Telangana or Andhra," he said.

Byreddy said that he was ready to submit his resignation from the Telugu Desam party for the cause of Rayalaseema State. Responding to Telangana Forum members mounting pressure on Naidu seeking another letter on the Telangana State to the Centre, Byreddy said that Rayalaseema leaders would also ask Naidu to write a letter on the separate state.

Byreddy's statement assumes importance in the wake of Telugu Desam Telangana Forum mounting pressure on party chief N Chandrababu Naidu to write another letter to the Centre for the Telangana statehood stating that the TDP was not opposed to the formation of separate state.
