Former Pcc Chief and MLC D Srinivas on Thursday regretted the statement of YSR Congress party honorary president Vijayamma suspecting the demise of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in the helicopter crash in 2009.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Srinivas termed the statement of Vijayamma as 'unfortunate' and asked as to why she has been raising doubts over the death of YSR after three years. He said that the State Government was ready for any kind of probe in this regard and would clear her doubts over the helicopter crash.

Srinivas also dismissed the charges of YSR Congress leaders that the State Government has diluted YSR's schemes and welfare programmes. Stating that YSR was not responsible for introducing such schemes at an individual level, he claimed that all the schemes belonged to the Congress party.

Claiming that the Congress was in a better position compared to earlier elections, he expressed confidence that the party candidates would win with a huge majority despite malicious campaign launched by the TDP and YSR Congress in the by-elections. Responding to switching of loyalty by a few Congress leaders in protest against Jagan's arrest, he denied the reports as baseless and far from truth and termed it as media speculation.

When asked about whether the CBI would arrest former government advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao in Jagan's disproportionate assets case, he said that the law would take its course and the probing agency would not spare anyone.
