Minor Irrigation Minister T G Venkatesh on Tuesday dismissed the charges leveled by YSR Congress leaders that the ruling Congress party and government should be held responsible for the arrest of Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy by the CBI.

Talking to media persons at the State Secretariat, Venkatesh said that Jagan himself was responsible for the arrest by the CBI. When the CBI initiated probe against the alleged illegal properties following a complaint, he said that Jagan should have answered them properly and rebut the CBI charges with clear evidence. However, Jagan, instead of answering to the CBI, accused the Congress and Telugu Desam of looting the State, he said.

The Minister expressed confidence that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would effectively handle all the problems being faced by the State.
