The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday organised a blind-folded protest near Gun Park opposite Assembly building demanding statehood for the Telangana region.

Hundreds of Bjp workers tied a black cloth on their eyes and raised slogans demanding Telangana. Later talking to reporters, senior Bjp leader Bandaru Dattatreyya said that although the pro-Telangana parties have started general strike on September 13, the Congress-led UPA government has completely ignored the agitation. He said the Centre was not willing to see the agitation and its intensify.

Dattatreyya said that the people of Telangana have been making several sacrifices to achieve statehood. However, the Centre was acting blind on the entire issue. He said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Governor ESL Narasimhan and other agencies have been trying to give an impression that the Telangana agitation was not intense. Stating that the movement was now people-centric, he demanded that the centre must announce a favourable decision on Telangana.

Later, Dattatreyya along with dozens of Bjp workers were taken into custody by the City Police.
