The N Kiran Kumar Reddy government is quite geared up to confront the Telugu Desam Party’s No Trust Motion on the Floor of the House if that was the correct indication given by a senior Cabinet Minister on Thursday.
Major industries Minister J Geetha Reddy made it very clear that the government is ready to face the No Confidence Motion which is scheduled to be moved shortly.
“We have confidence to face it,” reacted the Minister before media persons at the Secretariat.
It was also made clear that earlier, former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had also faced a
similar No Trust Motion and the current government would face it successfully.
“It is a game,” she pointed out. Ms Geetha Reddy also denied that there was any sort of match fixing involved clarifying to a questioner.
She expressed confidence that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government would have the backing of all the Congress Legislators, besides those of its allies.
When a reporter pointed out the ‘dissent’ in the party ranks, the Minister replied that when it came to the party affair, all Legislators would be with the party.
Asked about her name associated with the Deputy Chief Minister’s post, Ms Geetha Reddy replied that there were people in the race and it was ultimately the Congress High Command which would decide the candidate.
“The decision of the Congress High Command is mandatory and all of us would abide by it,” she said.
