Vowing to lead the Telugu Desam Party back to power in the 2014 elections, party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday called on his party cadre to rededicate themselves to the follow the values and principles of party founder NT Rama Rao.

Talking to media persons after paying rich floral tributes to TDP founder-president NT Rama Rao at NTR Ghat to mark the 29th foundation day of the TDP, Mr Naidu said that NTR had launched the party protect the self-respect of Telugu people.

He exhorted his party workers to take the policies and principles of party to grassroots level to strengthen its base.

Mr Naidu said the party will conduct review meetings on all welfare programmes taken up by TDP during their rule to create awareness among the people to mark the 29th anniversary of the party,.

He appealed his party cadre to launch an awareness campaign against Congress government’s anti-people, anti-student and anti-farmer policies.

TDP MLAs TV Rama Rao, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, D Narendra, K Yerrannaidu, Seethakka, former minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, former Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy and MLC Nannapuneni Rajakumari also paid rich floral tributes to NTR.

Later the leaders pledged to rededicate themselves to the values and principles for which NTR and stand steadfast in their strive to serve the people. They also vowed to see the party back in power in the State in the 2014 elections.

They blamed the Congress for all the problems currently faced by the State. The leaders resolved to strengthen the hands of party president in his relentless fight against the corrupt deeds of the Congress governments, both at the State and the Centre.
