The State Government has identified a number of places to be developed as tourist spots so that tourist traffic is attracted to Andhra Pradesh in a big way.

More or less, a replica of the famous Brindavan Gardens of Mysore is what the State Government is planning at Nagarjunasagar Dam.

Tourism and Sports Minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar told media persons at the Secretariat on Friday that his Ministry is keen on developing 'Brindavan Gardens' on 500 acres in the vicinity of the picturesque environs of Nagarjunasagar which would envisage promotion of tourism.

The Minister revealed another concrete plan to develop the Qutub Shahi Tombs here which is also intended to help promote tourism in a big way. The State Government will have a tie-up with the Government of Iran shortly for promoting the 'Tombs'  as another tourist spot to attract both inbound and foreign bound tourist traffic.

Another interesting place, Kolleru Lake where cranes of all hues assemble on migration, deserves to be converted into a beautiful tourist attraction, which can be a crowd puller, Mr Vasantha Kumar said. The government is keen on developing it and fix it on the tourist map of India, he added. Besides, the Tourism Ministry has more such plans to attract tourists from all over to AP, the Minister stated.

Giving details on the sports stadia, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the usage of the Stadia to the optimum level. Schoolchildren and others will be offered job-oriented training in any stadium, he revealed.
