Continuing his ‘Rythu Paramarsha Yathra’ in Guntur district for second day, Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi on Wednesday demanded that the state government announce a revised relief package for commercial and horticulture crops.

Addressing the media after launching his ‘Rythu Paramarsha Yathra’ at Narsaraopeta, the PRP leader urged the government to consider announcing better financial package for commercial and horticulture crops as the farmers suffered huge loss in cyclones.

He appealed to government to relax restrictions imposed on sanctioning of relief for tenant farmers.

The PRP chief also urged the government to set up counseling centres in villages so that the suicides by farmers due to debt trap can be stemmed and moral support extended to them.

He also demanded that the government supply seeds to farmers on 100 percent subsidy to start farm operations afresh.

The PRP chief urged the government to suggest a National Agriculture Policy to mitigate the losses of farmers, affected by cyclones and natural disasters.

Hailing the move of state government lifting police cases against students and agitators, who took part in separate statehood agitation, he said that the PRP would stand by its statement regarding the future of the state.

Whatever may be the outcome in the report, the PRP would push for the state remaining integrated, he said.

The yatra would conclude at Bapatla after passing through Gangannapalem, Chilakaluripeta, Yanamadala, Mutluru, Chebrolu, Tenali, Vemuru, Kolluru, Battiprolu and Limbutlavaripalem.
