Stop Targeting Baahubali, Or Else?

South or North Indian films that are targeting Baahubali records are tasting bitter results. It’s Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan that aimed at Baahubali box office collections record. But, the Vijay Krishna Acharya directed film did receive extreme negative talk from premiere shows. 

Although it raked record collections on day one, breaking previous records, the film botched to continue the momentum from day two itself. TOH had ended as one of the biggest disasters of Indian Cinema owing to lavish budget spent on it.

Director Shankar kept many hopes on his film 2.0 starring super star Rajinikanth and Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar. This visual extravaganza was lauded by critics. But, the film couldn’t show its power at box office. 2.0 is ending as loss maker for Telugu and Tamil distributors.

On the release day, Tamil over enthusiastic fans attacked Baahubali stating, the Rajamouli directed film is nothing before the Shankar directorial. Few even made posters to show 2.0 will be real Baahubali at box office. However, the film couldn’t even collect close to Baahubali: The Beginning.

Trade analysts suggest filmmakers should stop targeting Baahubali records which will only increase hype and mediocre content is affecting box office performance.
