Cho Ramaswamy was suffering with age related multiple ailments and admitted in Apollo sometime back. Few months back, Amma met him personally and instilled confidence in him to fight against the disease. Unfortunately, Amma passed day one day early than Cho.

Thuglak is most popular political magazine founded by Cho and is known for brutal criticism at the ruling parties. He was a screen writer, director and acted in over 180 Tamil movies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is upset hearing the news.

Cho Ramaswamy was a dear friend. I have been to his annual readers meeting which were an unprecedented editor reader interface. Cho Ramaswamy was insightful, frank and brilliant. I am pained by his demise and condolences to his family, countless readers of Thuglak,’ Modi said.

Amma may need a long standing friend and politial advisor in heaven, coincidentally Cho rushed to Jaya in death.
