Fake Collections Trend in Tollywood Again?

Three years ago, the makers of a top hero's film went on overboard in publicity announcing Fake Collections of the movie. Further, it led to the quarrels among the fans associations of different heroes about the collections of their heroes' movies. Although the top hero's movie stood at the blockbuster, it was due to the makers amateurish revelations of collections, the status of the movie appeared to have depreciated to some extent.

Recently, a senior hero's movie got hit talk on the day one of its release and is having a decent run at the box office. However, the makers of the movie revealed hyped collections of the movie. This again turns into hot discussion topic among the fans of heroes.

" I don't want to name any particular film or person, but I can say that it has become a practice in tollywood that many film makers are giving high figures about their films revenues. I think this is one kind of publicity they are doing. But most of the producers are unwilling to share the correct figures because of income tax and other problems," says top producer Suresh Babu in an English newspaper interview about latest trend in Fake Collections, today.

"Dil Raju's last year's film  'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' and this year's film 'Yevadu' proved to be super hits with Rs.52 crores and Rs.48 crores shares respectively. And these collections have been revealed by some enthusiastic media and the fans of respective heroes. Yet again, Dil Raju never ever tried to reveal the collections of these hit films and that kind of decency is expected from other film makers of tollywood. Perhaps, it is due to one or two particular producers, the controversy on collections is happening," opined a hardcore fan of Telugu films.
