Behind the Movie PNLJ: Mega debutant Sai Dharam Tej’s wait to see himself on screen is going to be fulfilled today. Directed by AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary with Regina as heroine and Jagapathi Babu seen in a key character, there is celebrative mood set in Mega camp. Let us get into the review.

In the Movie PNLJ: Story begins with introduction of Crime Journalist Shafi (Shafi) being attacked by men of local rowdy Maisamma (Jagapathi Babu), who belongs to politician (Sayaji Shinde). Reason is Shafi publicizes the politician in wrong perspective through a TV show exactly at a time when he is soon to become a CM. Opportunity now lands in hands of another politician Prabhakar Rao (Prakash Raj).

Into the present, Seenu (Sai Dharam) enters into Maisamma’s den to offer him a Suapri to kill a shocking person. Here Seenu narrates his love story though an interesting college flashback where Shailu (Regina) is introduced. After too many love proposals and rejections, Seenu comes to know that Shailu’s life is in danger from Maisamma. How is the total political backdrop connected to Shailu? What was the challenge between Seenu and Maisamma? Who became the CM finally?

Values of the Movie PNLJ: Due credits to only two persons, one is hero Sai and second is director Chowdary. For a new face getting introduced from Mega camp, one can understand the kind of pressure to build on Chowdary. Matching all such expectations, he prepared a best platform for Sai to take off. The magical screenplay with racy narration from Chowdary was well in sync with energy and style portrayed by Sai. Basically story has something new to offer and screenplay was prepared rope tight, however the pre climax and climax looked quite over board. Diamond Rathnam dialogues should be highlighted for conversations between Sai and Jagapathi Babu. Songs composed by Anup Rubens lacked in power needed for a hero like Sai. Stunts wise, the train episode was shot splendidly. Shivendra’s camera work was cool just like smooth editing by Goutham Raju. Production values of Dil Raju and Allu Aravind are noteworthy.

Performance wise, it is hard to believe whether Sai is acting in first movie or fourth, fifth movie. This guy has tremendous ease and can be unanimously declared as best debut among new heroes of present generation. If hair style was the only minus in Sai, excellent timing of comic punches, jazzy mannerisms, poignant dances, dare devil stunts and more than all the charm of Chiranjeevi presented in him are a huge bundle of plus points. He is set to shine for a bright future and Mega Fans have one more satisfactory addition to their list.

Regina looked gorgeous as usual. Her characterization lacked in clarity and depth which resulted in a paltry romantic track. Whatsoever, Regina proved her presence. Jagapathi Babu is the only best fit as Maisamma. His support to Sai and Regina meant a lot for the film. Raghu Babu as side kick to JB, Satya Krishnan as Raghu Babu’s wife and Jayaprakash Reddy-Duvvasi Mohan were thoroughly hilarious. Prabhas Seenu and batch has also done their best. Sayaji Shinde, Prakash Raj, Shafi and Surekha are in for a regular show.

Values of the Movie PNLJ: One cannot comment on what kind of a debut product YVS Chowdary cooked in the form of ‘Rey’ for Sai. Fortunately, ‘PNLJ’ has come like more than a better dream debut for the Mega camp hero. The script of Chowdary had all youthful components to outline best advantages in Sai. Without disappointing Fans, he gave a fault less performance.

Apparently, there were certain areas in second half where graph in pace of narration dipped which might serve as a drawback when calculating the final output. More careful and more dynamism induced into second half would have made ‘PNLJ’ a more worthwhile product. Political flavor in pre climax and climax shifted the focus of audience attention from Sai to Shafi. Story and scripting wise, it might be acceptable but from a common viewer point of view, why should Sai be sidelined? All in all, ‘PNLJ’ is a delightful debut for Sai and Mega Fans can have a blast of celebration time. Commercially, the film is well set to collect good figures.
