Looks like ‘Autonagar Surya’ has made Naga Chaitanya to miss a rare hat trick of hits which was started by ‘Tadakha,’ continued by ‘Manam’ and stopped by the latest release. In order to establish as an actor, Chaitu has come a long way carrying the tag of Akkineni family and that too at a time when his dad Nagarjuna is still considered as a big star here. Anyways, if ‘Tadakha’ has shown Chaitu in a powerful action role, ‘Manam’ was quite different with a novel subject and feel good entertaining format of narration. Problems came in with ‘Autonagar Surya’ because Deva Katta has definitely failed to use the mileage of stardom which Chaitu has garnered with his last two.

Everything from a 1980 style of narration to a weak story, pale screenplay and pathetic direction, ‘Autonagar Surya’ could not show Chaitu in any new dimension. Better for Chaitanya not to get hurried with scripts, directors and hope that coming projects will bring him back on track.
