Rajamouli was real target of Puri?

The comments made by director Puri Jagannath the other day are now the talking point everywhere. Puri made several observations. Among them his defense of music director Taman for lifting tunes and his outrageous statement that copying was no big deal and that everyone did it was not a general statement but seems to be directed at a particular individual.

It is well known that while Puri is struggling to score a hit, Rajamouli has been scoring hit after hit. It is an open secret that Rajamouli’s film Maryada Ramanna was a direct copy of the English film of the 1920’s Our Hospitality. Rajamouli adapted the film to suit the Telugu audiences but almost each and every frame from the English version was repeated in Telugu. Still Rajamouli got away with it as not many people took much notice about this. So it looks like Puri was actually targeting Rajamouli when he made the statement on copying.
